Assignment Policy
Homework is due at the beginning of class. Credit will be given when each problem shows work and effort. Answers without work shown will result in *no credit*. Work must be neat and easy to read; illegible work will result in *no credit*. Homework turned in late will drop 10% per day unless parents notify me in advance that the student will be out of class. Complete all homework in pencil neatly.
Tests are assigned approximately every two to four weeks at the end of each chapter. Most will be taken at home and must be proctored by an adult. The use of class notes from the teacher-provided composition book are allowed and encouraged. Graded tests will be returned and the opportunity given to gain more credit at a half point per corrected problem. Each semester will end with a final. Quizzes will be given in class throughout the year, some at the beginning of class.
Grading Scale
Homework 35%
Tests, Finals and Projects 55%
Participation 10%
While intermittent illness and family travel are normal during the school year, numerous class absences will negatively affect Participation. Tardiness affects not only the late student but interrupts the entire class; thus it will result in points deducted from Participation.
