4th\/5th Bible<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Mrs. Lemau<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am so excited to be teaching 4\/5 grade Bible this year. I have been blessed to serve in children’s ministry in a variety of roles for the past 20 years. I love creating lessons filled with hands-on activities and creative adventures that help bring God’s Word to life and encourage children to grow in their relationship with Jesus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My husband and I have been married for 23 years, and he serves as the Senior Pastor of The Anchor Church (Calvary Chapel Gilroy). We have five incredible children, and when we’re not at church or school, you’ll almost always find us at the baseball field cheering on our four boys. My hobbies include crafting just about anything, and I love all things fall\u2026.cozy sweaters, changing leaves, and anything pumpkin!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My prayer is that every child who walks through our doors feels loved, welcomed, and excited to learn more about who Jesus is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Language Arts 5\/6 course is a fast-paced, academic course emphasizing grammar usage, both written and verbal. Through literary works corresponding with 5\/6 History, students will learn summarization skills, creative writing techniques, spelling, memorization, and vocabulary. Finally, by the end of the year, students will be equipped to produce a five-paragraph essay.<\/p>\n

This course is targeted for 6th and upper 5th grade level and meets every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. From the textbook: \u201cBuild your students’ knowledge of the foundational math skills they’ll need for both everyday life and higher-level math. Units cover adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing whole numbers, fractions and decimals. Equations, plane-figure geometry, measurement, ratios, statistics, probability, and integers are also covered.\u201d<\/p>\n

This class is meant to challenge the student to think. We live in a world of mixed messages and we have a lot of questions. The Word of God will stand the test of time and is much needed in each person life. Each quarter will be a stand alone. 1st quarter is \u201cWorld View vs Biblical View\u201d \u00a0The book of Ecclesiastes will our text as it offers insight to a long ago man, named King Solomon. Each week homework is expected and required reading as well. No more than an 1 per week. Students will be required to have their parents sign off on all incoming work. Bonus point for students whose parent(s) read with them \"\ud83d\ude09\".<\/div>\n

Creative Arts is a mixed media art class that will create projects including 2D drawing and painting with the goal of teaching perspective, shading, and value.\u00a0 Other projects include mosaics, string art, silk painting, \u00a0foil embossing, \u00a0clay, print making \u2013 to name a few!<\/div>\n

There is a $75 supply fee (this comes out to about $2 per week), which can be paid via Venmo (to Peter-Fong-9), check, or cash on the first day of class. Students will also need a supply box (a plastic box with a lid the size of a tackle box or a shoe box).\u00a0 Supplies required: black Sharpie, scissors, Tacky glue, inexpensive water color\u00a0set, three paintbrushes\u00a0(round, in three sizes\u00a0@ size 1-2, 6-8, 12), pencils, eraser.<\/div>\n
