What is Vine Academy?
Vine Academy is a Christian organization that is a unique fusion of “home & schooling.” Vine’s educational premise is: At Vine, we believe that parents are responsible for their children’s education, spiritual development, and character under God’s guidance. Vine’s purpose is to come alongside you as parents to assist in your endeavor to educate your students to become godly men and women.
Families can enroll their student(s) in one or all of the subjects available for the student’s age/grade level.
Classes for grades 5-12 are on Mondays, Wednesdays & Thursdays. The typical Vine day is from 8:00 a.m. to 3 p.m. (Schedules will vary for those not taking a full load of classes). Tuition is on individual class prices (see course description for details.) Teachers at Vine Academy choose the curriculum. We provide a schedule of assignments and quizzes/tests and furnish quarter and final grades. Families purchase the chosen curriculum.
Vine is not a registered private school. Vine does not hold an affidavit or keep cum files or school records for our students. Participating families must file their affidavits with the state of CA or join a home-school charter (such as Ocean Grove or Inspire), a Private School Satellite Program (PSP), or an Independent Study Program (ISP). Contact our office if you are interested in a PSP or ISP in our area. Currently, Vine does not administer SAT/Iowa or PSAT tests.
Advantages of Vine Academy
Students who attend Vine Academy will experience personal and academic growth through accountability and individualized attention offered them in the small classroom environment. Also, Vine teachers minister to their students by serving as Christian role models outside of the home and church environments. Students who participate in Vine Academy are offered opportunities to develop leadership skills, minister to their peers, stand firm in their beliefs, and participate in group activities such as student council, student social activities, yearbook, graduation ceremony, etc. The overall educational experience provides excellent preparation for college or the working world.
